St George's Cathedral: singing day for young people
Many will have seen one of our excellent Cathedral choristers, Malakai Bayoh, blazing a trail on Britain's Got Talent singing Pie Jesu recently. Our Cathedral Choir contains several equally talented young singers who are nurtured and imbued with the necessary musical skills and discipline to perform to a high level by the musicians of St George's Cathedral.
St George’s Cathedral is always looking for young singers aged between 7 and 11 years to join the Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Consort (youth choir). Our Director of Music, Jonathan Schranz, will be welcoming young people to St George's on Saturday 1st July 2023, between 11 am - 2.30 pm, to sing in the Cathedral, make new friends, try on a choir robe and learn lots of fun songs!
No previous training is required, we are looking for a love of singing, a positive attitude and musical potential. If you know a young person who loves singing and would enjoy this opportunity, please encourage them to come along.
