Your first port of contact should be with your local parish. They will be able to explain the process that is involved including the paperwork requirements and the marriage preparation programme.  No firm arrangements should be made until you have made contact with your local parish.

Please make contact with your local parish. They will be delighted to welcome you and explain to you the period of preparation that is required. After a time of familiarising yourself with the local parish you can apply to join its RCIA Programme which helps adults to reflect and pray about their desire to become a member of the Catholic Church.

You will need to get in touch with your local parish priest. They will then explain how the parish welcomes families and prepares parents for the baptism of their children.  You do not have to wait until your child is born to prepare for the Sacrament of Baptism. Once the required baptism preparation has been completed the parish will arrange with you a suitable date for the baptism of your child.

Confirmation completes the Sacraments of Initiation and makes those who receive it full members of the Catholic Church. Every parish arranges a confirmation programme and the first contact should be with your local parish. Some parishes have confirmation every year, others every other year. A period of preparation is required before the celebration of the Sacrament. Confirmation is usually celebrated in the parish church by the Bishop.

Your first contact should be with the parish where you were baptised. Each parish holds its own Baptism registers and they will be able to issue you with a copy of the Baptism certificate as it appears in the baptism register.  You should contact the parish concerned giving them your details.  The parish will then arrange to send you a copy of the certificate.  Very often people request these certificates for the purpose of marriage or when applying to celebrate another Sacrament in a different place.  Catholic Schools will also need to see evidence of Baptism when a child applies for a place.
