The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark is looking for an ICT Support Technician to join their ICT Team. The Archdioceses of Southwark and Westminster are faith-led charities with over 300 parishes in total. The ICT support is shared between the Archdioceses of Southwark and Westminster and although this job is based at Bowen House SE1, there will be regular travel to Westminster Diocese and the parishes.
Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, this job is to provide specialist ICT support to clergy and staff and assist in the maintenance of the computer and telephone networks. Key responsibilities of the role include managing first line support and assisting in troubleshooting advanced hardware and software problems and upgrades, by phone, email and desk-side support; training new and existing users and providing support in use of ICT equipment as required; installing, maintaining and moving computer workstations and other ICT equipment as required; assisting in the maintenance of server rooms, switches and cabinets across the complex.; managing users access rights and password controls within agreed security parameters and following appropriate back-up procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Computer Science or equivalent and/or a relevant professional qualification. They will also have a good knowledge and preferably some experience in any or all of the following: - maintaining, configuring and troubleshooting Active Directory within an enterprise environment; managing current Windows Server versions; Microsoft based services such as ADFS, DNS, GPO, SCCM; supporting computer networks and a range of hardware and software applications, including basic systems administration; TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting; structured, hands-on approach to issue resolution, infrastructure projects and environment management and Microsoft Office 365 administration. Excellent communication skills, a willingness to contribute generally to the department, and the ability to work in a small team are essential.
This is a full time (35 hours per week – generally 0900 – 1700 Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work), permanent role with a starting salary of £25,000 to £28,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
