The safeguarding team is a hardworking team, dedicated to supporting the Archdiocese in their commitment to keeping everyone safe, particularly those most vulnerable, children and adults at risk. The team requires an industrious and dedicated individual who is passionate about safeguarding and wishes to work in a fast-paced environment and support the team in continuing to embed safeguarding across Parishes and communities.

Offered initially on a 12 month fixed term contract and reporting to the Head of Safeguarding, the purpose of this role is to provide administrative and clerical support for the Safeguarding Office.

Key areas of work include:
o Maintenance of National and Local Database records.
o Maintenance of the Intranet and Safeguarding page of Archdiocesan website
o Support to the Safeguarding Training programmes and assisting with delivery where necessary.
o Administration of the recruitment and support of Parish Safeguarding Representatives
o Administration of the DBS Disclosure application processes.

o Provide general administrative support in the office such as dealing with post, answering the door and telephones etc.
o Production and distribution the quarterly Safeguarding newsletters and other communications.
o Support the safeguarding plans procedure
o Respond professionally and compassionately to all individuals who report matters to the safeguarding team and take details and input on the Case Management System.
o Ad hoc projects
o Any other roles that are required to support the safeguarding team in their function

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the Catholic Church with a strong commitment to the Safeguarding of Children and Adults at Risk, excellent organisational and administration skills and advanced word/excel skills.  They will have a strong work ethic with excellent communication skills and evidenced understanding of confidentiality.  They will also be a good team player with a willingness to attend occasional events outside of usual working hours.  We encourage and support professional development.

Based at Bowen House, 59 Westminster Road, London, SE1 7JE, this is a full time role (9am-5pm Monday to Friday.  Starting salary £24,000 - £26,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
