Appointment of a Canon Christopher Whitehead as Bishop-Elect of Plymouth

The Archdiocese of Southwark was delighted to hear of the recent appointment of Canon Christopher Whitehead, formerly a priest of Clifton Diocese, as Bishop-Elect of Plymouth on Friday 15th December 2023.
In the video above, he speaks candidly about his surprise and joy at being chosen by the Holy Father, and his hopes for the future. He also gives insight into how he finds his peace and the ways in which he prays. He offers a special message for the priests, religious and people of the three counties of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
