New prayer programme by the Southwark Spirituality Commission

Bookings available now

A new prayer programme by the Southwark Spirituality Commission is launching this October and invites people to explore prayer more deeply. The programme asks a simple but searching question: are we as "in tune" with God as we are with our phones?

The Southwark Spirituality Commission's prayer programme draws on ways of prayer from within the living Tradition of the Catholic Church and aims to help participants take practical steps towards a deeper and more fulfilling relationship with the Lord Jesus.

It begins with four online sessions, held on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8.15pm:

  • Prayer as Listening on 6 October
  • Prayer as Centering on 13 October
  • Prayer as Imagining on 10 November
  • Prayer as Dialogue on 17 November

The programme concludes with an in-person Day of Reflection, building on the prayer experiences explored in the online sessions and centred on the themes of Advent. Participants can choose between Saturday 5 December at St Andrew's, Lewisham, or Saturday 12 December at The Kairos Centre, Roehampton.

The full programme, including the Day of Reflection, costs £25, with the online sessions alone available for £5. Bursaries are available for anyone who needs support to take part. Please contact spirituality@rcaos.org.uk to find out more.
