Young Southwark Catholics grow in faith
Faith Summer Break 2026
Children from parishes across the Archdiocese came together for the Faith Summer Break, which is a four-day residential held every summer.
Three Southwark clergy (Fr Matthew O'Gorman, Fr Dermott O'Gorman & Fr Francis Murphy), along with adult helpers and seminarians from the Archdiocese and beyond, accompanied children from parishes including St George's Cathedral, St John the Baptist in Purley, and Corpus Christi in Brixton.

The days combined engaging talks on the faith with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion, alongside daily Mass and prayer. The residential was a fun, relaxed, informal atmosphere with games, sports, crafts, a quiz, and a day trip to Thorpe Park.
For many of the young people, it was a transformative experience that helped them grow closer to Christ and encounter His presence in one another. We give thanks to God for the blessings received and for the opportunity for our young people to grow in faith and friendship, while having lots of fun along the way.
The Faith Summer Break takes place every August. Parishes are encouraged to check next year's dates before booking family holidays, so their children don't miss out.
