Young adult initiative launched at St Elphege Parish, Wallington
Living in Fellowship & Truth (LIFT) is for young adults aged 17-35
St Elphege Parish has launched LIFT (Living in Fellowship & Truth), a new initiative for young adults aged 17–35, welcoming Catholics and those of other faiths or no faith who seek friendship, community, and an opportunity to explore and grow in faith in Christ.
Launched on Saturday 11 July, the evening began with Mass, followed by a lively gathering in the Maurice Reaney Hall. The evening programme included games, a Bible Quiz, fellowship, and open discussion.
It was a welcoming and engaging environment, where young adults could connect, share ideas, and explore how they can grow together in their life in Christ, while making positive contributions to parish life.
In Rome (10/01/2026), Pope Leo VIX told young people not to be content with superficial relationships but to seek the truth, goodness, and communion that arise from encountering God and one’s neighbour. LIFT, responding to this call from the Holy Father, aims to build a vibrant and inclusive community where young adults can develop meaningful friendships, deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, and discover their unique gifts. As the next generation of Church leaders, they have an important role to play in shaping the future of our parish and wider community.
Everyone aged 17–35 is warmly invited to come along and experience the fellowship, encouragement, and sense of belonging that LIFT offers.
