New parish pilgrimage guide created
The Southwark Spirituality Commission creates a guide for parish pilgrimages
Pilgrimages are an important part of the spiritual life of parishes in the Archdiocese so to help parishes organise them, the Southwark Spirituality Commission has published a helpful guide.
The detailed guide, which includes editable Word versions, is available to download for free. The pack provides background on pilgrimages, including helpful tips on what to think about before you start planning a pilgrimage.
There is a model risk assessment, as well as a liturgy outline which includes prayers, suggested hymns and Gospel readings.
The materials have been devised for the 2025 Jubilee Year, in which we are called to be "pilgrims of hope". For the Jubilee Year, individuals and parishes have been encouraged to undertake pilgrimages and this guide is to help support them, spiritually and practically, on any journeys they take.
