Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion play an important role in parish life, by helping the parish community through distributing the Eucharist. While this may often be during the Mass, the role may also include taking Holy Communion to people in the wider parish community who are housebound due to health, age or disability.
The Archdiocese of Southwark congratulates all those who were commissioned.
The next commissioning days for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will be at St George's Cathedral on Saturday 6 February 2027 and Saturday 9 October 2027.
Photos and details of the day were kindly provided by the Chancery.
