Corpus Christi 2026
Photos from Corpus Christi processions across the Archdiocese
Parishes across the Archdiocese of Southwark marked the Solemnity of Corpus Christi with Masses, processions, and adoration, to give thanks for the precious gift of Christ’s Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist.
Processions were held at St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Purley, and St Bede’s, Clapham, among many others across the diocese.
At St George’s Cathedral, Fr Phil Andrews preached for the Young Adults community, reminding those gathered of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist:
“We are not gathered this evening around an idea. We are not gathered around a memory. We are not gathered around a symbol merely pointing back to something absent. We are gathered around the living Lord Jesus Christ: crucified and risen; present and active; humble and glorious; hidden beneath the appearances of bread and wine, yet truly, really, and substantially present among us.”
