Salary: In the regions of £18,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

We are seeking a highly organised and adaptable secretary to provide dedicated administrative and secretarial support the Episcopal Vicar for the South-East. The Episcopal Vicar also covers Education, Racial & Cultural Inclusion and Caritas. This is a varied and rewarding role that requires excellent communication, multitasking, and prioritisation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, including diary management, email and correspondence handling
- Coordinate key events such as Episcopal Visitations, parish priest inductions, Confirmations, and other liturgical occasions
- Manage budgets, expenses, and invoices using the AIQ finance system
- Proofread and edit liturgical booklets in line with established guidelines
- Maintain and update social media channels and the website; design posters, newsletters, and other materials using relevant software
- Organise meetings, take minutes, conduct research, and prepare reports
- Liaise regularly with the Archbishop’s Office, parishes, deaneries, and diocesan departments to foster strong working relationships
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in senior-level administration or secretarial roles is essential
- Strong multitasking abilities and resilience under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Proficient in IT systems including email, databases, finance platforms, social media, websites, Teams/Zoom, and research tools
- Highly adaptable with strong prioritisation and time management skills
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
- Knowledge of the workings of the Catholic Church an advantage
